Forthcoming Exhibition: Invited Artist: Royal Hibernian Academy 193rd Annual Exhibition.Ely Place, Dublin. May 22 - July 30. 2023
Nov/Dec 2022. I’m having a solo Exhibition in the Royal Ulster Academy Members Gallery. Open Tuesdays to Thursdays, 10am - 4pm. And I will be there in the Gallery working on some new projects. Will be running until 22 December. Please call and say hello? And most of the work will be for sale.

October 2022. Fantastic news that my painting “Laganbanks” has won The Tyrone Guthrie Centre Bursary Award at this years RUA Annual Exhibition. It can be viewed here on the Ormeau page. I have won a two week residency at the centre, with studio, and an invitation to exhibit at next years Royal Hibernian Academy Exhibition in Dublin. Very exciting. I’ll post further details of these Awards nearer the time.

July 2021. Very pleased to announce that my solo Exhibition in Gerard Dillon Gallery will now definitely go ahead. It was cancelled last year because of the COVID 19 pandemic, but has now been reinstated for the same dates this year. It’s titled “UNCONFINED” and will feature mostly new paintings, completed or worked on during the lockdowns.
5th August, to 30 September. Check An Culturlaan Centre, Falls Rd, for opening times.

January 2021. Just heard that My painting "The Gray Gate" has sold in the last days of the RUA Annual Exhibition. (It was mostly closed or online this year because of the pandemic). Even happier to discover it's been purchased by The Dept of Finance again. So it will join the one they bought last year somewhere in Parliament Buildings in the National Collection. It's now temporarily featured on this page.

September 2020. I've opened a new solo Exhibition in The Hallows Gallery on the Ormeau Road, Belfast. This features work made prior to and during the coronavirus lockdown. 20 new paintings can be seen between September 26 and October 24th. Gallery is open Wednesday to Saturday, 10 - 5pm.

May 2020. The Solo Exhibition of new paintings I've been working on for over a year has been cancelled due to coronavirus. It was to be held in The Culturlann Centre, Falls Road, in Belfast, and was to feature in the Feile an Phobial Festival in August. I may however be offered the same gallery and time frame next year? Fingers crossed.

March 2020. I've had a painting pre selected for the prestigious RHA (Royal Hibernian Academy) Annual Exhibition in Dublin. Very pleased as it's my first time of entering. But now not sure if it will go ahead because of coronavirus?

October 2019. Very happy to have a painting selected for this years Royal Ulster Academy Annual Exhibition. That makes it four years in succession. Looking forward to the Exhibition Launch on October 17th. It continues in The Ulster Museum until January 2020.
"Last Thatch in Galway City" sold before the Opening night. It was purchased by the Department of Finance and is now in the collection of Parliament Buildings in Stormont. It can be seen in the Beyond Belfast 2 Gallery.

January 2019. Flattered to be asked to speak about my work to "The Monday Painters", a group of Artists from East Belfast and beyond. The first time I've been asked to do this. Hard to believe that anyone would actually want to hear me talk for an hour or so, and also pay me for the privilage!

Very pleased to announce that this year I have had TWO paintings selected for 137th Royal Ulster Academy Annual Exhibition. Opening 19th October 2018. Ulster Museum. One of those selected "WYSIWYG" sold on the Opening night.

"Scenes From A Bigger Picture" was to finish in January, but, due to circumstances, has now been extended, possibly through to June 2018? I will endeavour to change and replace paintings as it goes along, to "freshen" the Exhibition. Those paintings that have sold have already been replaced. Queen's Film Theatre (QFT), University Square, Belfast. I hope its not putting you off your popcorn?

The Exhibition "On The Ormeau" has now opened with great success in The Hallows Gallery on Thursday 26th October. Runs until 21st November.

I was invited to hang a small exhibition in the foyer/reception area of
Queens Film Theatre, Belfast. The paintings are now on show and will be
on view till early January 2018. The Exhibition is called "Scenes From a
Bigger Picture".

Delighted and excited (again) to have a painting selected for this years 136th Royal Ulster Academy Annual Exhibition in The Ulster Museum. Exhibition is open to the public from 6 October 2017 - 7 January 2018.
Note: the painting, "CHEST INFECTION", SOLD on the Opening Night of the Exhibition.

Two paintings will be included in this years Anna Cheyne Visual Arts Awards at The Island Arts Centre, Lisburn. The Exhibition runs from 14 Sept - 12 Oct 2017. Open Monday - Saturday/

Some paintings are now showing in The Hallows Gallery, a new Art Gallery and framing business on Ormeau Rosd, very close to where I live and work. My "local"! And we are planning something very special for Culture night.

I was featured in a double page interview with photos in local glossy magazine "Northern Woman" in March 2017. The article focused on how I balance my working days with painting etc and looking after my 5 yr old daughter, since her birth. You may still find the magazine and article lying around in a Dentists waiting room, Beauty Parlour or Hairdressers? LOL..

The date for the Opening Reception in Shankill Road Library has been confirmed as Thursday 6th October. 6.30 - 8.00pm. And its looking like some very special guests and VIPs will be attending. (I had the Lord Mayor of Belfast, a sitting MLA for North Belfast, Head of Libraries N.I., and... Terri Hooley, in attendance!)

Delighted to announce my first solo exhibition in Dublin. And indeed it's also my first outside Northern Ireland! "It's Not What it Seems" is on display in The Ivy House Bar and Restaurant, Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9. And will run between 3rd August and 31st October 2016.

I was interviewed and filmed by local TV Channel NVTV about my work, for their Arts Programme "Collapse the Box". The interview took place in my studio at home, and outside in my back alleyway. An Exhibition of paintings has opened in Town House Gallery, 125 Great Victoria Street, Belfast. Showcasing some work as yet unsold remaining from recent Exhibitions, and some previously unseen. The Exhibition is to re-launch the Gallery space in Town House and will run throughout February 2016 and a few weeks into March.

Several new paintings have been delivered to Gallery 1608 in Bushmills, Co Antrim. A very interesting Gallery with a wide selection of styles and media, well worth a visit.

A selection of my prints are usually on display and available for purchase in Salt Bistro,St Annes Square, which is near the front door of The Mac. (Metropolitan Arts Centre). And is probably as close as I'll ever get to actually having something hanging in there! :-)

I do carry out commissions if the subject inspires me - and I feel I can bring something to it. Though not my normal practice, I will work from your own photographs if I cannot physically visit and experience the location. Or if it no longer exists... which is often the case... and more interesting for it? See the new Commissions page here for some examples

Artworks can be delivered to your door, Free of Charge, within Northern Ireland. Original paintings can be viewed at my home or studio by appointment.
